FAQs

What can I talk about in therapy?

You can talk about anything. There may be something specific that you’d like to work through such as anxiety, stress, relationship issues, etc. or you may want to reflect on things more generally. Either way, the space is yours to talk about what’s important to you.

How often will the sessions be?

Sessions will be weekly, usually at the same time and day each week. Having weekly sessions helps with continuity, relational connection, and momentum. However, if weekly sessions aren’t possible for you, that’s okay. We can meet less frequently if that suits you better.

What kind of counselling do you offer?

I offer person-centred counselling grounded in empathy, respect, and genuine human connection. This means we will always go at your pace and explore what matters most to you.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions take place in my therapy room based just outside of Bury St. Edmunds. Alternatively sessions will take place online via Zoom, over the telephone, or at an agreed public location outdoors for Walk & Talk Therapy.

How many sessions will I need?

You may want to come for short-term counselling (6-12 sessions) or you may feel the need to have long-term counselling (more than a year). I offer open-ended counselling sessions, meaning there is no fixed limit on how many sessions you can have. Get in touch to discuss this in more detail.

What are your counselling qualifications?

My counselling training was completed in the UK, where I gained Level 2 and 3 qualifications as well as the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree from a university in Chicago and am currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision. I engage in ongoing CPD to continually develop my skills and stay up to date with best practice.
